The office of New Student Programs is gearing up to welcome the freshman class of 2019 to the Miner Family! Students will arrive on campus to move-in on Sunday, August 11th.

That evening Opening Week will officially kick off with our Party at the Puck picnic event. Activities will continue through Saturday, August 17th. Throughout the week, students will: Complete an academic workshop, learn about the S&T campus and college life, participate in a team-based experiential learning project, and discover what it truly means to be a Miner.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Monday, August 12th from 4:45pm – 6:15pm in the Gibson Arena of the Gale Bullman Multipurpose Building as nationally known blogger, speaker, author and entrepreneur, Odell Bizzell, speaks to the freshman class.

Through life-experience stories, he will help the audience to learn empathy and practice it, develop leadership skills, and understand how to succeed both as students and as people. Odell’s message will be both relevant and actionable. This is just one of the exciting additions being made to the already-strong Opening Week programming, one we are thrilled to share with the entire campus community.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend any and all events during Opening Week. Campus participation during orientation sends a strong message of support to our new students.
