Amanda Sauerwein at library desk

Amanda Sauerwein enjoys helping people, which makes the circulation desk at Curtis Laws Wilson Library a great station for her.

Need to find an academic journal or a specific section of the library? Ask Amanda. Want to reserve a room in the library? Talk to Amanda. Ready to check out that book? See Amanda at the circulation desk.

In addition to staffing the desk in her role as circulation coordinator, Amanda also reviews the library’s processes to ensure that circulation and other access services are efficient and relevant for S&T’s community.

“I love being in an academic community that is driven by knowledge and people,” she says.

Amanda joined S&T in 2010. She holds a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is working toward her Ed.D. in educational leadership at MU.

An avid reader and learner, Amanda enjoys reading biographies, autobiographies and monographs on history. She is currently reading a lot about organizations and change as part of her coursework. Her favorite series is the Wizard of Oz books by L. Frank Baum. She also enjoys reading books by Isabel Allende and Hunter S. Thompson.
