Want to learn the most-spoken language in the world? Take the Elementary Chinese 1101 course this semester via a course-sharing program with the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). Dr. Yan Li, a native Chinese speaker and assistant teaching professor of Chinese at UMSL, will teach the course.

The course is online and asynchronous (students complete their work on their own time), and students will earn five credit hours. The cost for this class is the same as a regular five-credit-hour class at S&T. The course name at S&T is ALP 1001, Chinese I, class No. 73616.

The subsequent course, Chinese II, is scheduled for the following semester, Spring 2020. For more information, please contact Dr. Irina Ivliyeva, associate professor of arts, languages and philosophy at S&T, at 341-4627 or ivliyeva@mst.edu.
