Rolla Band performance

You could toot your own horn – literally – with a local band. Area musicians are invited to join the Rolla Town Band this summer. The band is open to brass, woodwind and percussion players age 14 and older. There are no auditions to join and players of all abilities are welcome, including those who have not played in recent years. The band will perform five concerts throughout June and July. The concerts are free and open to the public.

Rehearsals will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, with additional rehearsals on Thursday, June 13; Tuesday, June 18; Tuesday, June 25; Tuesday, July 2; Tuesday, July 9; and Tuesday, July 16. All rehearsals will be held 7-8:30 p.m. in Room 137 Castleman Hall.

Dr. David Samson, assistant professor of music at S&T, will conduct the band. For more information, please contact Samson at samsondw@mst.edu. Follow the band’s progress this summer on Facebook at facebook.com/rollatownband.
