Department spotlight: Military Science-Army ROTC

The U.S. Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Stonehenge Battalion at S&T helps prepare students to become successful Army officers. Based in Harris Hall, nine staff members support the department. The military science department provides an academic curriculum that supplements a student’s major and is designed to prepare students for service as commissioned officers in the U.S. Army and its Reserve components (the Army Reserve and Army National Guard).
The military science program includes a two-year basic course, a two-year advanced course, and a four-week advanced summer program. Upon completion of the requirements for the bachelor’s or master’s degree and military science training requirements, students are commissioned as second lieutenants.
