Today’s talk to focus on converting thermal energy to electrical energy

Susan KauzlarichS&T’s chemistry department and Center for Research in Energy and Environment (CREE) will host a seminar by Dr. Susan Kauzlarich, distinguished professor of chemistry at the University of California Davis, 4:15-5:15 p.m. Monday, March 4, in Room G-3 Schrenk Hall. Her talk is titled “Applications of Zintl Phases for Direct Thermal to Electrical Energy.” Light refreshments will be served before the seminar.

Kauzlarich’s research group has focused on Zintl compounds for their structural, chemical, and electronic properties. In this seminar, she will present research on Zintl phases for thermoelectric applications such as waste heat to electrical power conversion.
