3-Minute Thesis (3MT) winner Siddesh Umapathi will represent Missouri University of Science and Technology at regional competition on March 21st, 2019. Umapathi, a PhD candidate from the Chemistry department, will travel to St. Louis, MO to compete at the Regional 3MT competition hosted at the 75th Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Annual Meeting. Umapathi competed against 18 other talented Miners to be able to compete at the regional level.

3-Minute Thesis is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland which challenges PhD/M Research students to present a compelling oration on their thesis in just three minutes using language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

Umapathi’s riveting presentation titled “Keep the Cars Running: Hydrogen as a Potential Fuel” wowed the judges at Missouri S&T, and the entire S&T Family wishes him the best of luck at the Regional 3MT Competition.
