The University of Missouri System is accepting nominations of faculty members for the 2019-20 class of Presidential Engagement Fellows. Through the program, faculty members from S&T, MU, UMKC and UMSL share their research discoveries with Missouri citizens in every county. Nominations are due Friday, March 29.
The 2018-19 fellows, shown above, include three S&T faculty: Dr. Diana Ahmad, Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor of history and political science; Dr. starsoffline.com Joel Burken, Curators’ Distinguished Professor and chair of civil, architectural and environmental engineering; and Dr. Catherine Johnson, assistant professor of mining and nuclear engineering
To participate in the Presidential Engagement Fellows program, faculty members are nominated or can self-nominate someone who has demonstrated an ability to communicate their research to the public. Fellows will participate in a training and orientation session and represent the UM System at three to five speaking events per year.
