Huebner named CAFE chair

The Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE) announces that Dr. Wayne Huebner, professor of materials science and engineering, is now serving as chair of CAFE. His tenure will last until through May 2020. Huebner brings many years of experience to the position as a former department chair and vice provost for research.

Dr. Larry Gragg, Curators’ Distinguished Teaching Professor emeritus, served as the inaugural chair of CAFE from May 2017 to December 2018. He will continue to serve the center as assistant chair through May 2019.

The center’s leadership is shared by a representative from each college, with the assistant chair serving an 18-month term before serving as chair, also an 18-month term.

The mission of CAFE is to promote the success of Missouri S&T faculty as teaching scholars at all stages of their careers. CAFE provides several programs and resources for S&T faculty. Learn more at cafe.mst.edu.
