Student workshop to focus on application, pitching business idea

Missouri S&T students with entrepreneurial visions can advance their ideas and win prize money by participating in the Entrepreneur Quest (EQ) Student Accelerator, a new University of Missouri System program. Dr. Jeff Hornsby and Bill Turpin will present “Application and Pitch Practice” 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in Room G-2 of the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building (IDE).

Hornsby is the Henry W. Bloch/Missouri Endowed Chair of Entrepreneurship, chair and professor of the global department of entrepreneurship and innovation at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Turpin is director of the Missouri Innovation Center at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

The EQ Student Accelerator program offers award money from $5,000 to $30,000 based on how far students go in the competition. Learn more at eq.umsystem.edu/.
