All faculty and staff who work with graduate students are invited to a lunch-and-learn event 12:15-1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center. Register online by Tuesday, Aug. 28.

If graduate student advising is a new role for you or if you have been advising for some time but need a refresher on best practices, consider registering for the event, titled “Best Practices for Advising Graduate Students.”

A panel of experienced and effective faculty advisers will share their strategies for determining appropriate workload, supervising graduate students and allowing graduate students the freedom to work while also recognizing red flags for when help is needed.
