Manufacturing research medal goes to Leu

Dr. Ming Leu, the Keith and Pat Bailey Missouri Professor of Integrated Product Manufacturing, will receive the 2018 Milton C. Shaw Manufacturing Research Medal. The award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers recognizes significant fundamental contributions to the science and technology of manufacturing processes.

During Leu’s 36-year academic career, he has published over 400 referred publications in technical journals and conference proceedings, one e-book, nine book chapters, four U.S. patents (plus two pending) and eight edited volumes of conference proceedings. Leu has obtained more than $28 million in external grants since joining Missouri S&T. He has delivered more than 300 technical presentations and his publications have received over 8,600 citations with an h-index of 45.

Dr. Robert Landers, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, nominated Leu for the award.
