Ann M. Raab, adjunct instructor in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, will present a lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, on the second floor of Curtis Laws Wilson Library. Her talk is titled “Unleashing the Wolf: General Order No. 11 and Civil War on the Western Border.”
The lecture is part of the library’s summer exhibition, “Impressions of the Civil War in the West,” which will run through Friday, Aug. 31.
In addition to teaching at UMKC, Raab is an anthropology instructor at Metropolitan Community College-Longview in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and an adjunct instructor at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. She is interested in historic sites archaeology, focusing on economics and land use during the 19th century in the American Midwest, and the impact of warfare, slavery and subordination.
