Information systems awards go to two faculty, three students

Five participants from Missouri S&T’s business and information technology department won awards at the 13th annual Conference of the Midwest Association for Information Systems (MWAIS) held May 17-18 in St. Louis. This conference theme focused on cybersecurity.

Dr. “Fiona” Fui-Hoon Nah, professor of business and information technology, received the Best Reviewer Award.

An S&T paper, titled “Mobile Course Feedback System for Improving Student Engagement” was selected as one of the three best papers at the conference. Authors are:

  • Dr. Nathan Twyman, assistant professor of business and information technology
  • Mark Farmer, a 2017 information science and technology graduate of S&T
  • Jake Mondschein, a senior in information science and technology
  • Nathaniel Williams, a senior in information science and technology

The winners will receive cash awards when their manuscripts receive final acceptance for publication in the Journal of the Midwest Association for Information Systems (JMWAIS).

The MWAIS is a chapter of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) serving Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

The chapter promotes the exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge among scholars and professionals in the Midwest who engage in the development, management and use of information and communications systems and technology.
