Library to host civil war exhibition

The Curtis Laws Wilson Library will host an exhibition, “Impressions of the Civil War in the West,” beginning Friday, June 8, and ending Friday, Aug. 31. It will be free and open to the public on the second floor gallery of the library. The exhibit will feature artwork by local artist Dan Woodward. Hours will vary during summer; please call 341-4008 for hours.

Drop by to view the gallery and mark your calendar for these events, all on the second floor of the library:

  • Woodward will speak at the gallery opening reception at 7 p.m. Friday, June 8.
  • Ann M. Raab, adjunct instructor in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, will present a lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14. Her talk is titled “Unleashing the Wolf: General Order No. 11 and Civil War on the Western Border.”
  • Woodward will speak during the closing reception at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24.
