Energy expert presents in Middle East

Dr. Joseph Smith, the Wayne and Gayle Laufer Chair of Energy, served as keynote speaker at a three-day seminar, “International Workshop on Gas Flares,” at Koya University in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The seminar was held to help industries in Iraq reduce their environmental impact in the Middle East region.
Attendees included representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Oil and Iraqi oil companies. The event was co-sponsored by Missouri S&T, Koya University, Zeeco Inc. and Elevated Analytics, Inc.
