Fort Leonard Wood seeks two Missouri S&T employees to serve at the fort for a two-year period as a temporary assignment through the Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA). In this program, the university is reimbursed as the employees retain their S&T salaries and benefits, and then returns to S&T after the two-year experience. The positions are for a project manager and a technical communications advisor.
The project manager is a full-time position in the fort’s office of quality assurance. The person selected will help military staff plan, supervise and manage work by commercial contractors. A master degree, project management professional (PMP) certification and some work experience outside of the university setting is preferred.
The technical communications advisor position could be either full time or part time. If part-time, the individual would splitting his or her time between Army and S&T duties. The technical communications advisor will help the military staff derive full value from IT tools as a technical lead on small projects. A master degree and some experience are preferred.
