Two electrical and computer engineering professors received awards for top papers published in the IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility journal in 2017 among the several hundred published in the journal annually. The journal is a publication of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Dr. Jun Fan and several colleagues won the best transaction paper award for the paper titled “Coupling Analysis for Wires in a Cable Tray Using Circuit Extraction Based on Mixed-Potential Integral Equation Formulation.” Fan leads Missouri S&T’s Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility. Co-authors include doctoral student Yansheng Wang and former S&T doctoral student Daozhao Liu.

Dr. James Drewniak and several colleagues won second place (honorable mention) for their paper, “Sensitivity Analysis of a Circuit Model for Power Distribution Network in a Multilayered Printed Circuit Board.” Drewniak is a Curators’ Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering. Co-authors include former S&T Ph.D. students Ketan Shringarpure and Siming Pan and former postdoctoral fellow Jingook Kim.
