Dr. Vince Bertram, president and chief executive officer of Project Lead The Way, will serve as the keynote speaker for Missouri S&T’s Teaching and Learning Technology Conference on Thursday, March 15, in Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall.
The theme of the event is “Literacy in STEM Education.” Students in elementary, middle and high schools are exposed to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields through hands-on Project Lead The Way curriculum. As CEO of Project Lead The Way, Bertram provides strategic direction, organizational development, guidance and support to PLTW’s team, as well as educators and leaders throughout the country.
Before joining PLTW in 2011, Bertram served as a principal, assistant superintendent and finally superintendent of Indiana’s third-largest urban school district. He drew state and national recognition for his leadership and unprecedented accomplishments of the school districts that he served. Bertram is a New York Times bestselling author with his books, Dream Differently: Candid Advice for America’s Students and One Nation Under-Taught: Solving America’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Crisis.
