S&T staff present at campus activities conference

Two Missouri S&T staff members presented an education session at the Central Regional National Association of Campus Activities in Oklahoma City in October. Tina Reagan and Jonathan Affalter presented, “What Event? Event Planning 101.”
Reagan is an operations supervisor at the Havener Center. Affalter is a program administrator for risk management and education in student life. During the presentation, Reagan focused on the fundamentals of effective event planning and Affalter collaborated with details on risk management.
Their session included tips for building and organizing an event planning team; conducting successful meetings; making clear and concise meeting objectives, choosing the right location; negotiating with agents and when to work with a middle agent; artist accommodations; printing; budget; personnel and volunteers; and risk management.
