The Ozark Rivers Solid Waste Management District Council selected Missouri S&T’s residential life department to receive one of four of the council’s Outstanding Contribution in Solid Waste Management Awards. Sarah Perry, manager of student support services in residential life at S&T, leads the university’s end-of-the-year student collection and donation activities.

Steve Tupper, administrative consultant, accepted the award on behalf of Missouri S&T at a ceremony Nov. 28 at the Meramec Regional Planning Commission office in St. James.

The team was nominated by a district board member for “outstanding waste reduction and community service accomplished through an end-of-the-school-year collection program.” These activities support the goals of the district and provide valuable services to the local community.
