International students and scholars are invited to participate in the Celebration of Nations parade at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, in Rolla. One of the highlights of the parade is the many students and community members carrying flags from their home countries. If you have not previously attended Celebration of Nations, check out a video from the 2016 event.
Each country needs at least two volunteers — one to carry the sign and one to carry the flag. Additional walkers are welcome; you can invite friends and family who would also like to help represent their home country in the parade.
Please sign up to carry your country’s flag at http://signup.com/go/ANFgskM. Review the options listed, choose your country and sign up. You will not need to register an account or keep a password.
If someone has already signed up to carry your country’s flag and sign, you can still represent your country by walking in the parade. Many participants choose to wear traditional clothing from their home countries.
The Celebration of Nations festival and talent show, Celebrate Talent, will follow the parade.
In addition to the parade, you can get involved in Celebration of Nations in other ways:
