Lecture planned today on Missouri defense recommendations

John Hixson, vice president of defense and advanced manufacturing for the St Louis Economic Development Partnership, will present a lecture on Missouri’s $10.5 billion defense business 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, in the Meramec-Gasconade Room of the Havener Center. Hixson will review the Missouri defense supply chain analysis of the state’s annual defense spending. He will speak about buyers, roles that Missouri S&T plays and 11 strategic recommendations for the state in how to further secure, expand and diversify this business. He will use best practices from other states as benchmarks.

The presentation is hosted by the National Defense Industry Association’s Great Rivers Chapter, Meramec Regional Planning Commission and Missouri Enterprise.
