The Legislative Internship Program was founded in 1975 with the purpose of increasing student engagement and representation in state politics. Some of the accomplishments of the legislative interns and ASUM as a whole include the creation of the Bright Flight Scholarship, recently creating a Task Force on Mental Health Issues in Higher Education, and so much more!

ASUM Interns meet one-on-one with state lawmakers in Jefferson City throughout the spring semester in an effort to win support for student-centric legislation. This lobbying internship is a great service opportunity for those who are passionate about issues that affect students everyday.

Perks of the position include a $1000 stipend, up to 6 hours of Political Science credit, and free travel to Jefferson City.

Applications are due on October 13, 2017 at 5:00 PM. For more information or to apply for the internship, check out asum.mst.edu/internship.
