Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. Students who contract the flu may miss several days of class, putting them behind. The best defense against the flu is the annual influenza vaccine, recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.

Although flu season has not yet begun, it takes two weeks for the vaccine to become effective, so it is best to get vaccinated early. Stop by Student Health Services Monday to Friday between 8:00AM and 4:00PM to receive your annual flu vaccine for $15. We will also be partnering with Delta Tau Delta to set up on-site flu clinics, with discounted rates, so stay tuned for those announcements.
