Missouri S&T’s Innovation Team awarded two curriculum development faculty grants of $3,000 to two faculty members for 2017-2018. Formerly known as the Innovation in Education Grant, the program is administered through the Center for Educational Research and Teaching Innovation (CERTI).

The funded proposals are:

  • “Development of A Self-Guided Arduino Module for Introduction to Engineering Design,” by Dr. Jillian Schmidt, assistant teaching professor of mechanical engineering
  • “Design and Innovation in the Biological Sciences,” by Dr. Julie Semon, assistant professor of biological sciences

The program infuses creativity, entrepreneurial mindset, leadership, innovation or design thinking into undergraduate student curriculum. Results of this research will be shared at the Missouri S&T Teaching and Learning Technology Conference in March 2018.
