A research team led by Dr. Nicholas Leventis, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of chemistry, has developed aerogels with a rubber-like elasticity that can “remember” their original shape. The research was published May 2 in the American Chemical Society journal Chemistry of Materials. Leventis’ co-authors are Dr. Lia Sotiriou-Leventis, professor of chemistry; graduate students Suraj Donthula, Chandana Mandal and Adnan Malik Saeed; and summer interns Theodora Leventis and James Schisler.

Articles about this research have been published in several publications, including The Science Times, Lab Manager and ScienceDaily.
