The employee eConnection will move to its summer schedule starting Wednesday, May 24, through the start of the fall semester. Nearly 1,200 Missouri S&T students will be awarded degrees during two commencement ceremonies at the Gale Bullman Building on Saturday, May 13. If you are attending a ceremony, make sure you have the latest event details, available at registrar.mst.edu/commencement/. Plans have changed from previous years and each ceremony will now include all students from a given department in the same ceremony. Freshmen engineering students recently cast their votes for their favorite teacher. Paul Runnion, assistant teaching professor of mathematics and statistics, received the Freshman Engineering Program’s “We Love Your Class” award for the 2016-17 academic year. The FedEx Express drop-off box that is currently located on the north side of Parker Hall will be moved today, Thursday, May 11, to the west of its current location, putting it closer to Parker Hall’s north entrance doors. The box will be moved due to a foundation stabilization and fiscal services renovation project at the building.

The university’s fiscal year ends Friday, June 30, and the 2017 closing calendar is now available on the University of Missouri System Controller’s website. The calendar provides important Fiscal Year 2017 deadlines and processing information for accounting and procurement activities, including journal entries, payment requests, travel and expense activity, ARBI invoicing, CRR and ARR deposits, Show-Me Shop, purchase order requisitions, and One Card activity. Missouri S&T’s dining services locations will observe the following hours of operation through Saturday, July 29:

• Einstein Bros. Bagels will be open 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, May 15.
• Au Bon Pain, will be open 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, May 15.
• Thomas Jefferson Dining Hall, beginning Monday, June 5, will be open for the following meals:
  • Breakfast: 7-8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Dinner: 5-6:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday
  • Brunch: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
• Miner Break Café, which includes Starbucks and Wicked Spoon, will be open 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, June 5.
• Avenue C will remain open 24/7.

The showers and restroom facilities in G18 and G28 of the Gale Bullman Building will be closed Monday, May 15, through Tuesday, Aug. 1. During this time, the men’s and women’s shower rooms will be renovated.
