Missouri S&T will host Steel Industry Day 10 a.m.-2p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Havener Center. Representatives from major steel producers, foundries and suppliers will promote the steel industry and recruit for internships and full-time jobs. Free food will be provided throughout the event, including a barbecue lunch.
The event is designed for all engineering majors to network and learn about the challenging and high-paying technical careers for various types of engineers within the steel industry. Lori Wharrey, manager of board services for the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) will discuss $800,000 worth of scholarship opportunities through the AIST Foundation.
Leading up to Industry Day on Feb. 22, representatives and pre-registered students will attend awelcome dinner 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Matt’s Steakhouse. Space is limited. To register to attend the dinner, please register with Emily Dake, office support assistant.
