Poetry is Power: Race and Patriotism in American Poetry

Poetry is Power: Race and Patriotism in American Poetry” will take place on Thursday, February 2nd, from 6:30 – 8:00 PM in the Missouri/Ozark Room of the Havener Center. The event will feature a series of twentieth-century African-American poems focused on complicated issues of America, patriotism, citizenship, and race relations. A dessert reception will begin at 6:30, and student performances (spoken word and song) will begin at 7:00. All are welcome to attend.
