Changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) for the University of Missouri are effective today, Thursday, Dec. 1. More information will be coming soon from the University of Missouri System. The Fair Labor Standards Act is a federal law that establishes the federal minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping and child labor standards. In May, the U.S. Department of Labor announced changes to the FLSA.
Missouri S&T’s human resources staff met with departments affected by the changes as well as one-on-one with individual employees who are directly affected and their supervisors or managers to discuss changes to FLSA status.
