Volunteers urgently needed for Oct. 21 event

Women are needed as volunteer guides for attendees of the Expanding Your Horizons conference Friday Oct. 21, on the S&T campus. Guides are needed from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Volunteers receive a free lunch. To volunteer, sign up online or contact Michelle Wiginton, student support specialist, at 341-4835 by Wednesday, Oct. 19.
Expanding Your Horizons introduces seventh- and eighth-grade girls to careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). During the conference, attendees interact with women working in traditionally male occupations. The girls participate in hands-on workshops, meet other young women with similar interests and learn about career opportunities.
