Physical defense for women classes begin Oct. 23

The Missouri S&T Police Department is offering rape, aggression, defense (R.A.D.) training for women. The classes are free for Missouri S&T students, employees and dependents. Classes will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sundays, Oct. 23, Oct. 30, Nov. 6 and Nov. 13, in the Student Recreation Center in the Gale Bullman Building.

Lt. Letha Young of the Missouri S&T police department will lead the comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. To enroll, contact Young at young@mst.edu or 341-6654. Groups of 10-15 may arrange a specially scheduled course by contacting Young. For questions, please contact the Missouri S&T Police Department at 341-4300.  Additional R.A.D. courses will be scheduled in winter 2016 and spring 2017.
