Faculty recognized at regional ASEE meeting

Missouri S&T was well represented at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Midwest Section annual meeting and conference Sept. 25-27 in Manhattan, Kansas. S&T earned the Faculty-Mile award for attendance. The section includes states of Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Dr. Christi Patton Luks, associate teaching professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, received the Outstanding Service Award for outstanding service to engineering and technology education and for her involvement in ASEE and ASEE Midwest Section activities.

Dr. Amardeep Kaur, assistant teaching professor of electrical and computer engineering, has been elected chair-elect of the Midwest Section. She will serve as chair-elect for 2016-2017 and as chair for 2017-2018.

In addition to Luks and Kaur, attendees from S&T included:

  • Stuart Baur, associate professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
  • Steve Watkins, professor of electrical and computer engineering
  • Semih Yildirim, adjunct assistant professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering
  • Angie Hammons, manager of instructional technology services
