The provost’s office seeks a Missouri S&T Faculty Fellow to assist with the following administrative projects during the spring 2017 semester:

  • Faculty promotion and tenure policy and procedures — working with Dr. Melanie Mormile and the Faculty Senate Tenure Policy Committee
  • Integration of “Learning Through Diversity” into our curriculum — working with various constituents on best practices
  • Expected activities include attending Provost’s Cabinet meetings and providing reports on the projects outlined above.

The broad goal is for an individual to gain experience working with administration and faculty leadership.

The Faculty Fellow appointment will be 25 percent full-time equivalent (FTE) for the spring semester (January 2017). The provost will provide one course release to the faculty member’s home department during the spring.

Interested faculty members should submit a one-page written statement explaining why they are interested in the Faculty Fellow position to Dr. Melanie Mormile, professor of biological sciences, at mmormile@mst.edu by Friday, Oct. 21.

The provost will announce a new Faculty Fellow on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
