Second annual cops and Miners paintball tournament

University Police Lt. Oscar Kemp, in partnership with Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity at Missouri S&T, will host a “Cops and Miners” paintball tournament to raise money for Special Olympics Missouri on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Paintball Preserve, located at 12285 County Rd. 5280 in Rolla. Form a team of five to compete against the public safety community in a two-game elimination tournament. This event will be limited to 25 teams, so register soon.

To register your team, email cops.vs.miners@gmail.com by Saturday, Oct. 22. Please include an appropriate team name, name of the represented organization if applicable, a team captain with contact email and phone number and a list of four teammates’ names. The day of the tournament, participants will be given liability waiver forms that must be filled out by all team members. Team members will not be able to participate without a signed waiver form.

There is a $100 registration fee per team. Make checks payable to Paintball Preserve; cash is also accepted. All proceeds after expenses will be donated to Special Olympics Missouri. Teams will also need to wear a common color of clothes that can get dirty and painted. Bringing a lawn chair to the event is also recommended. All goggles, paintball guns, canisters, hoppers and paintballs will be provided. There will be food and drink available for purchase.
