Missouri S&T has signed an agreement with Learfield to implement the university’s trademark licensing program. The contract moves the university into a model used by most major institutions for handling the licensing of its logos and trademarks on apparel, sporting goods and other products. Learfield will be the initial point of contact for manufacturers for licensing agreements, royalties and trademark protection. Missouri S&T will retain final decision-making authority and control of trademark licensing, including approval of all designs and agreements.

Learfield is contacting vendors used by Missouri S&T to guide them through the transition process. The program will begin Saturday, Oct. 1.

Learfield provides license management services to more than 560 colleges and universities, athletic conferences and special properties worldwide.
