Student life is offering new opportunities for students, faculty and staff to get involved in the Rolla and Phelps County communities. The new Second Saturday Service Program will host a unique service project on the second Saturday of each month with a local organization. These service projects provide a great opportunity for faculty and staff to get involved in the local community and interact with students in a new way that supports a culture of service on campus. Registration is required online through OrgSync by the second Wednesday of the month. It is free to participate, and service projects will generally run from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This semester’s projects include: Sept. 10 at Kaleidoscope Discovery Center; Oct. 8 at Ozark Rivers Audubon Society; and Nov. 12 at Rolla Presbyterian Manor. Visit studentlife.mst.edu/volunteer-involvement/secondsaturdayservice for more information and to register.
