Opening week orientation will be a week of academics and interactive programs that begins when approximately 1,500 new freshmen participate in the “New Student Move-in” on Saturday, Aug. 13, and activities continue through Saturday, Aug. 20. Throughout the week, new students will complete an academic workshop, learn about campus and college life, and participate in Project X – a team, experiential learning project. The Project X competition will be Friday, Aug. 19, and the campus community is invited to cheer for the teams and support new students. If you don’t have time to watch the races, vehicles will be on display in the Havener Center atrium. There will be evening activities for our new students, which include a welcome picnic, comedian, Vegas night, ice-cream social, outdoor movie, concert and more.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend any and all events during opening week to welcome new students to campus. New Student Convocation, the official Missouri S&T welcome, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, in the Gale Bullman Building. Attend and meet the new students.

Campus participation in opening week sends a strong message of caring and encouraging success for our new students. For a complete schedule of opening week activities, go online to pro.mst.edu or follow PRO on Facebook at Missouri S&T New Student Programs.
