Are you interested in singing in a choir? Did you know the university has three choirs at Missouri S&T? Men’s chorus, open to all men on campus (students, faculty and staff) meets noon-12:50 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Rehearsals begin on Monday, Aug. 29. Chamber choir is smaller, auditioned soprano, alto, tenor and bass choir for men and women, which meets 12:30-1:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23, during rehearsal time, and the first regular rehearsal will be held Thursday, Aug. 25. If you’d never sung in a choir, university choir is the ensemble for you. This is a non-auditioned group in which you’ll learn a little about reading music and singing. It meets 2-3:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the first rehearsal held Tuesday, Aug. 23. Have a lab one of those days? You can still join. All groups rehearse in Room 138 Castleman Hall. For more information, contact Lorie Francis, assistant teaching professor.
