This MU Extension strength-training program can get your fitness journey (re)started, right here on campus. Participants will be safely guided by a trained instructor through warm-up, 8 muscle-strengthening exercises and cool down. “Stay strong, stay healthy” meets two times each week for eight weeks, and focuses on improving strength, balance and flexibility. Equipment will be provided.
Classes are geared toward older and sedentary middle-aged adults, no age limits. Classes will be noon-1 p.m. or 5:15-6:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 24-July 14 in the large conference room of the Technology Development Center. The classes count for 100 points towards Wellness Incentives upon successful completion of the course. The cost is $50 and the registration deadline is Thursday, May 12. Participants can choose to register for the noon classes or the 5:15 p.m. classes. For more information, contact Angela Fletcher at 417-967-4545 or email fletchera@missouri.edu.
