You may not have noticed, because there have been no changes to campus services, but Educational Technology (EdTech) is now under the leadership of Dr. Anthony R. Petroy, assistant vice chancellor of global learning. This organizational alignment, which took effect Sept. 1, addresses a key action of Missouri S&T’s strategic plan – to expand and combine efforts in global and online learning.
“As part of global learning, EdTech will continue to be readily available for academic departments and faculty members to utilize their services in order to enhance the learning experience, strengthen teaching methods and increase productivity,” says Petroy. “With this move, support for all learning environments originating from Missouri S&T are now unified.”
“By bringing the resources of EdTech, distance and continuing education (DCE) the Engineering Education Center (EEC) and the Video Communications Center (VCC), under one organization, it will make it easier to utilize the online and distance delivery services available to the campus,” Petroy says.
EdTech provides services and support to help facilitate and implement learning technologies. Instructional designers, developers and technologists work closely with faculty to enhance teaching methods. For more information about EdTech, go online to edtech.mst.edu
The global learning mission is to support teaching and learning whether face-to-face, online, or any combination. More information is available at global.mst.edu.
