The campus community is invited to attend the 2015 Service Learning Symposium which will be held 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, in St. Pat’s Ballroom A and B of the Havener Center. The symposium on service learning is a chance for the University of Missouri System and community partners to come together to learn what each other are doing and to build strong relationships.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. S. David Mitchell, associate professor of law at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Mitchell’s expertise is in the area of ex-offenders and their re-entry into society. Much of his community engagement has involved working with this population, as well as with other underprivileged groups, through the Boone County Offender Transition Network and the Boone County Community Partnership, where he serves on the board of directors.
RSVP to Dedie Wilson by Friday, Sept. 18. For more information, visit the symposium website.
