Funeral arrangements for Dr. Lyle Pursell

Dr. Lyle Pursell, professor emeritus of mathematics and statistics, died Saturday, June 6, at age 89. A visitation is planned for 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Both will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 803 N. Main St., in Rolla.
Dr. Pursell joined the mathematics and statistics department as an associate professor on Sept. 1, 1967. He was promoted to professor the following year and retired from the university on Sept. 1, 1988. Dr. Pursell is survived by his wife, Charlotte, and an extensive family.
