The next faculty, staff and friends Golf League will begin play at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the Miners’ Golf Course. The league welcomes players of all abilities from beginners to experienced. The tournament is a scramble format which makes it easier for beginning golfers and players with limited skills to enjoy the game. The league will play every Tuesday for eight weeks, with makeup games for rainouts held the following Thursday.
The cost to participate is $20 for those who have a season pass at the course and $60 for all others.
If you would like to play in the league, contact Adam Dillon or call the Miners’ Golf Course Clubhouse between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at 341-4217 with the following information:
There will be a couple of changes for this year’s spring league. First, membership in the league has been opened up to include friends, so anyone can play in the league whether they are faculty, staff, student or general public. Second is the addition of an automatic two-putt rule – once on the green, each person will putt once and if no one individual makes the putt, the team will pick up the ball, take the additional stroke and go on to the next hole.
Don’t want to commit, but still want to play? Sign up as a substitute player. There is no cost to participate as a substitute.
