Healthy for Life invites the campus community to join a program with three decades of research showing its effectiveness at helping people who are coping with job or family-related stress, depression, anxiety or other medical problems. The eight-week “Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program” provides tools for responding to the stress associated with illness and everyday life with greater skill and creativity using formal mindfulness techniques and information about stress, communication and wellness.

There is a $40 registration fee and $20 reimbursement if you attend seven of the eight classes. Spouses or partners can join you free of charge if they use the same materials. There are limited spaces available to local community members for a cost of $180.

Orientation: 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22

Classes: from 5-7 p.m. Mondays (Sept. 29-Nov. 17)

Full-day retreat: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8

Email Maureen Hall for more information. Register online. This course can earn first-time participants 100 points towards the newly expanded 2015 Wellness Incentive – which will pay eligible employees up to $450 for taking steps to live a healthier lifestyle.
