Dr. Donald C. Wunsch, the Mary K. Finley Missouri Distinguished Professor of Computer Engineering, was named a Master in the DeTao Master’s Academy. The DeTao Group is a large conglomerate in China with major offices in Shanghai and Beijing. It brings together leading masters from around the world representing many fields to share their advanced knowledge with apprentices in a sophisticated learning system that goes beyond conventional degree studies.

Wunsch recently gave the opening keynote, titled “Adaptive Resonance Theory and Diffusion Maps for Clustering Applications in Pattern Analysis,” at the Model Reduction Across Disciplines Conference in Leicester, U.K., on Aug. 19. He also presented the invited lecture, “Innovations and Open Problems in Supervised, Unsupervised and Reinforcement Learning,” at the IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence, Beijing, on July 8.  He is scheduled to give a keynote speech at the Extreme Learning Machines Conference in Singapore in December.
