Updates for the S&T community
Women are needed as volunteer guides for attendees of the 15th annual Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) conference that will be held Friday, Nov. 7, at Missouri S&T. EYH helps 7th- and 8th-grade girls learn about careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. The event brings more than 450 students to campus.
EYH is a one-day conference at Missouri S&T that allows girls to interact with women working in traditionally male occupations. The girls participate in hands-on workshops, meet other young women with similar interests and learn about career opportunities.
Female faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to volunteer. Guiding is a great way to contribute to the students’ experience on campus. The hours are 8:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. and lunch is provided for all volunteers. Sign-up to volunteer by Monday, Oct. 20, at eyh.mst.edu or contact Michelle Wiginton at 341-4835.
