The Missouri S&T bands and orchestras start regular practices during the first week of classes. All interested instrumentalists are welcome to come to any practices during Opening Week or the first week of classes to join or find out more about the groups. All groups are currently accepting new members.
The Wind Symphony will meet at noon every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Symphonic Band will meet at 4 p.m. Mondays.
The Symphony Orchestra (strings, winds and percussion) meets 7-9:30 p.m. Mondays, and the Chamber Orchestra (just strings) meets 7-9 p.m. Thursdays.
The Miner Marching Band, including all winds, percussion (battery and pit) and color guard, starts during Opening Week, with music practices every day at 3:30 p.m. and marching practices every evening at 6:30 p.m. Marching band practices will occur during regular class times from 4-5:45 p.m. starting Tuesday, Aug. 26, and continuing every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
