New student programs is pleased to announce that Union Pacific will once again sponsor the 2014 Opening Week’s Project X. Union Pacific will have representatives on campus during Opening Week to assist our new students with programs and judging their projects. 1,300 new students will attend Opening Week, which starts Saturday, Aug. 16.

New students will be divided into 80 mentor groups, guided by upper class mentors, and will have the opportunity to create a vehicle that will be judged on several objectives — creativity, design, presentation and journal. The week will end on Friday, Aug. 22, with a team competition racing throughout campus. The races will begin at the Puck at 9 a.m. and the finish line will be between McNutt Hall and the Havener Center.

The awards ceremony will be at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, in the Havener Center. Mark your calendar to attend. If you would like additional information or would like to volunteer during race day, contact Patty Frisbee, 341-7045.
